Part of a 5-fold Pattern Language.

Pattern template

A rigid plan combined with a formal aesthetic results in apertures neither of the appropriate sizes nor compatibly located. Decision on size and placement should be finally determined only when the basic framework has been constructed.

Physical Finding the right position for a window or a door is a subtle matter. Minor changes in size or placement make an immense difference. Rather than using standard sizes and pre-planned positions, exact positions and sizes should be determined on site once the framework has been built.

Broader Perimeter continuity; Inter-level connections; Overview of external contexts; Eccentric access to perspective contexts; Receptivity to emerging external insight; Occupiable sites for perspective inactivity; Occupiable sites exposed to external insight; Limiting exposure to harmonious perspectives; Overview of communication pathway from structure; Organization of structures to permit two sources of external insight.

Narrower Filtered insights; Displaceable frameworks; Ground-level visibility; Multi-faceted frameworks; Zones of intermediate insight; #P1225; Emphasizing transitions across boundaries.
